I’ve had my share of struggles in life unfortunately. I’ve had to fight hard due to the battles I’ve encountered. I want to encourage others to never take the word “No” as an answer. Women need to fight for what they want. NEVER GIVE UP!!!! Well, let me rephrase this. That ex who cheated on you and says “No, I will never cheat again on you.” Sorry ladies, once a cheater always a cheater. I have learned that the hard way. (wasted too many years on him) That’s another post for another day! LOL
Struggling can knock you down so hard literally to the floor. It did for me! I did so hard that I was sobbing on the floor crying and my dog came over licking the tears off my face. At that time, I felt so alone and scared but I needed to literally hit that bottom. I needed that moment to find my strength. Why did I hit that rock-hard bottom sobbing on the floor? Well that day in 2018 I was diagnosed with a rare brain disease called Pseudotumor Cerebri. It’s not curable.
I woke up that morning unable to use my hands, which with the disease can happen first thing in the morning. I then went to sit up and get out of bed and unable to walk due to vertigo. The room was spinning so bad I ran into the wall. Knowing I needed to get to work and I solely support myself calling out wasn’t an option. I just couldn’t get up off the floor as everything was spinning and now, I was hurting from my head hitting the wall.
It was at this point that I texted my bestie Ayla and I confided in her. She provided me the support and encouragement. I told her I needed to get to work and I can’t stay home. She talked me out of it and talked sense into me, which I really needed at that time. Because of my bestie while my dog licked the tears off my face, I found the encouragement through her words to get off that floor. I’m thankful for her empowering me that day. We need women like this in our lives. Keep women like this in your life!
Know when you hit rock bottom, there is only one way to go up! When you see on Instagram everyone smiling and living a wonderful life, remember it’s because people don’t like sharing the hard times. Everyone has been through a hard time in their life, just many are embarrassed to share. Don’t ever feel alone! We all go through the ups and downs throughout some point in our life. If today is your hard day, tomorrow is your good day! Just take one step at a time to a better day, and remember… don’t be afraid to lean on your friends and family for support. It doesn’t show your weak, it shows you care for them and know you want them in your life. It also shows to yourself you know when you are a big enough person to know when you need to ask for help.
